Rare Solid Gold (9ct) Match Box Holder ~ Hallmarked '375' / London 1907

Very Rare 9ct yellow gold match box holder (16.75g) that is hallmarked '375', and has the glyphs for London and 1907. It is 1 3/4" long, 1 1/8" wide and 1 1/16" tall. It has oblong windows on either side for access to the striker panels.

Almost all match cases of that era were brass, or sterling at best, and this is the only solid gold version I have seen in many years. There are no dings on the holder, which is surprising for an item well over a century old. This vintage item is fully usable and would make a great addition to a tobacciana collection.

Also included is a vintage box of Vulcan matches from Tidaholm, Sweden. The box is made from paper covered wood and is nearly full of what I believe are the original century old matches.
